knitting marathon:1 marathon = 46 145 yards

I've heard lots about knitting marathon in blog land. In order to knit a marathon, I'd have to knit 46,145 yards. I think i'm going to do a knitting light jog instead. I'm going to see how long ti will take me to knit 1 mile/1760 yards. so far in 2007 I have 164 yards down and 1596 to go!

This knitting marathon idea is news to me! Do you have to throw cups of water on yourself every once in a while? Good call on knitting a mile. Can you imagine how much a marathon would cost??!

The Lime and Violet Sock Marathon lets you set your own goal. Some people have posted stashes of 20 miles! But you set your own goal of how much to knit by March 31st. I'm hoping for 2 miles, but I'm off to a slow start.

can you use an icord maker? i feel like that might be cheating, but if it's not- i've got it covered with the flower business.
